A Loving Couple 01/16/2009

WOW!!!  That is  serious face!!!  :)I pray that this video is well received from all who watch it and I also pray that the shaking of the camera is not too distracting.  :)  The one important lesson that I learned from doing this video is that everyone has a story to tell and that there are others out there in this HUGE world that want to know that they are not alone.  This is a place where miracles happen and sometimes they are observing kind people being a little vulnerable.

Have a wonderful day!

I am overwhelmed with joy when people come to me and tell me that they have never been able to run before in their life and because of setting small achievable goals, they were able to run their first 5K race.  Everything is life happens to fall into small incremental steps that create a certain outcome.  I cannot drive from Tampa Bay, Florida to Fayetteville, NC in 5 minutes.  The reason is obvious, I have to drive each mile individually in order to get there…all 800+ miles have to be driven.  I can’t skip any of those miles or something in the time/space continuum will occur.  J

Please, Please, Please, write down you goals and make sure that they are achievable and sustainable.  If you need any help with this, shoot me an email and I will be more than accommodating in helping you to the next level.

Have a GREAT day and again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HA HA!  I love this stuff!  This is to get you on the same playing field with the people who are already applying this in their routines.  You need to know how hard you heart and your muscles are working to maximize each workout.  I just had to put a little spin on the info by holding a camera and drawing on a white board.  J

You know what you need to do!  You need to make sure that you are training hard enough when you are training and making sure that you are maximizing the time spent.  It is extremely frustrating to know that when you have completed a workout to find that your intensity didn’t yield the best results.  I am here to share with you the best kept secret about how to determine what your intensity with a fail proof method...it is simply finding out what your heart rate is and matching it to your training goal.  If your goal is to ran faster and gain the most explosive muscle contraction, then training at 55% of your maximum heart rate isn’t he best training zone for you.

I highly recommend getting a heat rate monitor that will not only tell you your heart rate, but also calorie burn too.  The one I use is a Polar F6 which is one that is compatible with most cardio machines.

Good luck and if you have any questions, please let me know!!  :)

How often do we get so motivated to make the right changes in our lives to maximize the results in return and we get caught up in the web of life?  We have goals and visions laid out on paper then the work day seems to drag, the traffic lights seem to always turn red when we near the intersection, clients cancel and chaos overwhelms us?

I know this happens to me and my mind seems to fill up with those meaningless "things" that keep my mind occupied preventing me from keeping my eyes on the goals and visions I have for a results-rich future.  The thing WE need to focus on is the present moments.  Each individual moment adds up and when they are filled with chaos and confusion, we tend to not focus on productivity.  We tend to worry about things we cannot control.  We tend to SPEND time instead of investing it in our families, our bodies and personal growth.

Right now, let’s empty our minds and focus on right now.  Let’s focus on the magical moments in the present and not in the nuts and bolts of our past.  Right now is the moment you will turn into a victorious individual that has no shackles!!!  What magic is happening around you right now??  Let me know what you find!!

My present magical moment just happens to be my lovely wife telling me that dinner is ready and she is smiling in the kitchen telling me to put the laptop away...lol  Ambers smile is all the magic I need.

Have a great night!

Josh

What are the giants that you are facing today?  Are they people who are always telling you that you are not good enough?  Are they people who tell you that your ideas of losing weight, bettering yourself and driving forward is simply unattainable?  I am here to tell you that as I am writing this blog in my living room that you are not alone!  There are so many others out there that are going through the very same thing!  You are worthy of getting what you want, you just have to dig deep enough to pull out those fresh thoughts of empowerment and fresh feelings of worthiness and bring them to the surface to be exposed!  You are strong enough to get the real prize at the end of the field!  You are POWER beyond explanation!

Keep digging you feet into the soil and keep pressing on!  I promise the road of heart ache will end in you cry out in victory!

Josh

Sorry for the over enthusiasm when introducing myself!!

I LOVE what I do and I just cannot contain the bursts of ENERGY I get to share!!  J

I do want to talk to you today about what the power of proximity is.  We have all heard people say that who someone models is who they will eventually become.  We see this is peer groups where someone new to the group is completely opposite of the others in the group, until one day…That person subconsciously picks up the behavior of the others.  It is the same when it comes to weight loss, sports performance conditioning, eating better, etc.  You NEED to model what has worked in someone elses life first and not others that keep going around and around never getting what they want.

The key is to get into close proximity with those who are going to lift you up and give you the right feedback when you need it!

Have a great day and talk to you soon!

I hear time and time again that people when trying to lose weight, increase strength, feel better through fitness, that they are alone.  I can honestly say that this is not the truth.  I am there!  I am there from the moment the choice is made to change ones behavior and I am there the moment the goal is met.  The point is: WE are a TEAM!  We can do anything together if we work together as one unit!  We can climb the highest mountains, cross the deepest and darkest seas.  We can do anything!

Think of a rope.  Now this rope is one unit, but if you take a closer look at what the rope is made up of you will find that the rope is made up of 10-100 individual strands that if they stood alone in a tug a war challenge, they would break and they would break fast!  The person who designed the rope knew that the final product would be stronger if the single strand was met by 10-100 more of the same which would make it that much stronger.

Now with respect to fitness and health, YOU and I are the strands that make the rope strong. WE have to work together to make sure that the variables that are keeping you from getting what you want from your body do not creep up and keep you from succeeding.  I am there for you and WE can make the mountains move or we can RUN over them!!  J

Where does your motivation come from?  What is the process that you take in order to make the choice to run a little faster?  When you decide to push the envelope a little harder?  When you change your state of mind from defeated to conqueror in the snap of your index finger and thumb?

I challenge you this week to dig a little deeper inside your heart and make those changes that you need to make in order to increase you effectiveness in all areas of your life!

I challenge you to wake up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror and say first thing, YOU FREAKIN ROCK!!

I challenge you to do the right thing and that is to exercise and eat a little better than yesterday because you deserve to have the goals achieved you have set for yourself!!!

Keep driving, keep running and never settle for GOOD ENOUGH!!!

I love to hear that people are mixing it up to keep the body moving but also the mind.  Too often, I hear of people doing the same workouts day in and out for years without changing anything. Then they come to me and ask for a tune up which is as simple as changing the range of motion, rep range, set range, tempo and even the whole workout!  :)  I like to hear when people get the results they are looking for when they keep out of their comfort zone and move into the unfamiliar like speed work, power and also isometrics.  WOW!  I haven't thought that I would ever say the isometrics word, but I have!!  Isometrics have been proven to increase not only strength in the tissue, but also laughter in the body. ;)
